Position: Nursing Supervisor – Skilled Nursing Facility

Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in practicing state
- A nursing degree from an accredited college or university or a graduate of an approved RN or LPN program
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct care in long-term care, restorative or geriatric setting as an RN/LPN.
- Minimum (1) year of experience in nursing management as RN and (>3) years of experience in nursing management as LPN.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Effective January 1st 2022, you must be fully vaccinated with an FDA COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of your vaccination status as part of your new employee pre-boarding
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Current CPR certification
- Long term care experience preferred
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have the patience, empathy, and compassion needed to care for elderly patients
- Ability to work cooperatively with other healthcare professionals
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents in the facility.
- Ensures compliance with current applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.
- Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing and Administrator as required or as necessary.
- Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is always maintained on every Unit to adequately meet the needs of the resident and notifies appropriate personnel (including the Central Supplies Coordinator) of needs.
- Assists in the development of written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident.
- Ensure nursing/aide assignments are completed as indicated.
- Encourages staff to attend and participate in training programs and schedules times as appropriate.
- Review nurses’ notes to ensure they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident’s response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident’s wishes.
- Support and assist the nursing staff in the admission of new patients to the facility.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position; lift, push, pull, carry heavy objects. Stand for long periods of time, walk, bend and stretch.
